Amana Heritage Museum

(Amana):  main museum in Amana plus sites in the other villages including a church museum and store (Homestead), general store (High Amana), blacksmith shop (West Amana), agricultural museum (South Amana), and communal kitchen (Middle Amana)

University of Iowa Museum of Art

(Iowa City) The University of Iowa Museum of Art building will be closed until further notice due to flooding. "This museum displays buidlings from the 1800’s and early 1930’s. See the 1861 log house and bachelor’s cabin, 1861 railroad depot, 1930 filling station.

There is a historical resource library for those interested in a deeper research of the time and area. Displays include section of reconstructed farm house, one room school, general store, doctor’s office. See how the pioneers survived in the era, purchased goods, experience their educational facilities and think of how you would feel being treated in the doctor’s office of the time."

The Iowa Wine & Beer Promotion Board was established by the Iowa Legislature during the 1986 session. The Board consists of three members. One member represents the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED), one member represents the Iowa wine makers, and one member represents the Iowa beer makers.

Iowa River Power (Coralville)

"At the turn of the century, a flour mill operated on the site that is now occupied by the Iowa River Power Restaurant.  Construction on the present structure was completed in 1902 to house a power generating station that operated until 1964.  It was sold to the City of Coralville for $1.00 and they in turn sold it to others who used it for storage until 1976.  Conversion of the structure into a restaurant began in February of 1977.  The Iowa River Power Restaurant officially opened Monday, October 24, 1977. The rest, as they say, is history."
